Making Joy A Habit is All About Perspective

Sometimes I am amazed at the beautiful connections I have made on Facebook. On the other hand, I know that we attract like minded people, so I shouldn't be surprised when the universe delivers a new friend on a silver platter in the most unique ways.

I have been very fortunate and extremely grateful for the delivery of Kimberly Wilson Ward, placed ever so gently in my path by our generous universe!
She has given me the opportunity to spread my wings as a writer, encouraging me to take a step, then another and another until I was flying down a creative path of self awareness.

She has definitely brought a smile to my face while teaching me that perspective is essential for making joy a habit!

Joy truly comes through your perspective of events and situations that you find yourself in on a continuous basis. When you finish your shopping at the Grocery store do you glance at the receipt and see a decline in your checkbook or do you see an abundance as you put the groceries away?

If Only...

Anguish, remorse, disappointment...No matter what word you use, most of us have felt regret at some point in our lives.

Regret is one of those emotions that eats away at us as we ponder about what could have been. The fact is, we can't go back, we can't change the past. All we can do is learn from our mistakes and move forward with the confidence that our past experience has made us wiser.

I love this quote from Steve Maraboli:

If you are struggling with a past mistake or a nagging regret, I have written a tapping script to assist you in letting go and moving forward. If you are new to this blog and unfamiliar with the tapping process, please see the "introduction to tapping" link at the top of this page or listen to both audios at the top and right of this post. They will provide you with everything you need to know!

Remember to change the words to fit your personal situation so it resonates with you!
Start with the Karate chop point.

Karate chop point:

"Even though I have all this regret, I love and accept myself anyway”
"Even though I wish I would have done things differently, I accept this feeling and everything it means to me”
"Even though I feel really bad right now, I know I am a good person anyway”

Round One:

EB: All this regret
SE: I really wish I would have done things differently
UE: I can't let go
UN: It is eating away at me
CH: Like a slow poison
CB: What was I thinking?
UA: All the hurt
HD: It could have been avoided
WR: If only I had stopped to think

** Now take a deep breath or two and proceed to the second round of tapping**

CH: How do I move on?

UA: I can't live this way forever
HD: I will never be happy
WR: If only I could find a way to forgive myself

** Now take a deep breath or two and proceed to the third round of tapping**

Round Three:

EB: This regret is serving no useful purpose
SE: It's like walking backwards
UE: It's getting me no where fast
UN: Today is the day I am going to turn this around
CH: No matter what has happened in the past
CB: I am done with all the negtive self talk
UA: I am done with looking in the rear view mirror
HD: Today, I choose to start moving forward
WR: If only I had decided to do this a long time ago

**Now take a deep breath or two and proceed to the fourth round of tapping**

Round Four:

EB: I realize I am not perfect
SE: But I know I can be amazing most of the time
UE: I am choosing thoughts of forgiveness
UN: I forgive myself and anyone else that may have contributed to this feeling of regret
CH: Everything happens for a reason
CB: I am choosing to let go
UA: The first thing to go are the words "if only"
HD: Everything happens as it should
WR: There is wisdom in divine timing

**Now take a deep breath or two and proceed to the fifth round of tapping**

Round Five:

EB: It’s time to let it go
SE: Let it go
UE: Let it go
UN: It’s safe to let it go
CH: I’m safe

**Take a deep breath and say “PEACE”**

Showering you with blessings of a clear conscious!
